On Thursday, July 13, 2023, a historic moment unfolded as the City of LaBelle City Commissioners unanimously approved the long-awaited master plan concept for Barron Park. Serving as LaBelle's beloved park since 1911, Barron Park holds an irreplaceable position in the hearts of our community members. Now, with this unanimous decision, we stand together, prepared to embark on a journey that will honor the park's rich history while ushering it into a new era of modernity.
At the heart of our master plan lies a deep commitment to preserving the park's cherished historic features. We understand that the essence of Barron Park lies in its ability to bring joy and solace to our citizens, just as it has for over a century. Through careful consideration and collaborative efforts, we have crafted a vision that will enhance the park's functionality while maintaining its quintessential charm.
As an organization dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown LaBelle, the LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation (LDRC) has taken a proactive role in spearheading fundraising initiatives for the fulfillment of this ambitious undertaking. We are immensely proud to inform you that our LDRC volunteer group has primed the fundraising gears, and we are already making strides toward raising funds to bring Barron Park to its full potential.
To fuel our progress, we have resolved to infuse the area with an exciting array of events. Our intention is twofold: to maximize community engagement and elicit financial support. LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation Barron Park Master Plan

We have developed a comprehensive plan that includes the construction of a new picnic pavilion, a new stage, additional restrooms, the relocation of the gazebo and Clara Hull Memorial, as well as the addition of a multi-use pathway. For the landscaping, we are proposing the use of drought-resistant Florida native plantings and shrubs.
1. New Picnic Pavilion
A new picnic pavilion will be designed and carefully positioned within the Annex to provide visitors with an inviting space to gather and enjoy outdoor activities. The pavilion will blend seamlessly with the surroundings while providing ample shade, comfortable seating, and space to host various events or picnics. We will ensure the pavilion is constructed using durable materials that harmonize with the existing architectural style of the area.
2. New Stage
Our proposal includes the construction of a new stage within the park, which will serve as a central platform for live performances, concerts, and cultural events. This new stage will be equipped with modern amenities and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. Its design will prioritize versatility, allowing for different types of performances and accommodating the needs of various artists and performers.
3. Additional Restrooms
To enhance the overall visitor experience, we will add new restrooms to the park. These facilities will be conveniently located and accessible, ensuring comfort and convenience for all visitors. The restrooms will be designed with modern fixtures, energy-efficient appliances and will reflect the overall aesthetic of the area.
4. Relocation of the Gazebo
With careful consideration of its significance, we plan to relocate the gazebo within the park to a prominent and accessible area. We believe that by moving the gazebo, we can further enhance its visibility and serve as a focal point for community events and gatherings.
5. Relocation of the Clara Hull Memorial
Similarly, the Clara Hull Memorial will be relocated in a prominent area within the park to ensure its significance is properly recognized and appreciated. This relocation will allow for easier access and create a sense of reverence for this important historical artifact.
6. Addition of a Multi-Use Pathway
As a part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life in Barron Park, the LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation is excited to propose a transformative project that aims to inspire active lifestyles and foster connectivity within this passive park. Our proposal focuses on the construction of a comprehensive multi-purpose trail system that will stretch across the entire park.
